Welcome to the Charles F. Fernandez Center for Alternative Learning! Our school is located across the river from downtown Stevens Point in the beautiful West Zinda Drive building we share with PoDS. We serve approximately 100 students in grades 11 and 12 each school year. We offer credit recovery options so students can earn 23.5 credits towards their high school diploma and we also have the GED Option 2 (GEDO2) option for qualifying students. We individualize programing to best meet the students' needs. If you are interested in having your student attend Fernandez Center, please contact your student's counselor at SPASH to explore criteria and consider beginning the referral process.
We do not offer "drop in" conferences on 2/15/24, but instead offer 1:1 conferences arranged through the month of February.
If you would like to have a conference, please schedule one in advance by reaching out to your child’s teacher by phone or email (see list below) to schedule an in-person, phone, or a virtual conference:
A therapist from Rawhide will be at CFC on Wednesdays, and is available to meet with our students onsite. If you are interested in learning more about what this service could provide your student, here is more information: Information about Rawhide
Please pick up an intake packet to complete and return to the office, or contact our school social worker, Joe Rickert, who is happy to answer any questions you might have: 715-345-5592 x42011
